Mediation

Conflict management and conflict resolution are two of the biggest challenges for families.  These challenges do not disappear simply because you avoid the issue or make up and move on. Empower to Engage can work with parents and their children, or parents and their siblings regarding issues involving elderly care-giving, to help them resolve varying types of disagreements. We also serve couples, divorcing and unmarried couples, communities, and organizations in conflict.  Sessions are scheduled to suit the needs and availability of the parties involved. 

 

Parent Coordination/Arbitration

Even after implementing their parenting plans, divorced parents may still be in high conflict as they struggle to resolve disputes related to their children. When that happens, a Parent Coordinator can help protect children from parental strife by combining conflict resolution, case management, mediation, and parent education strategies. Regularly-scheduled meetings with Empower to Engage as your Parent Coordinator provides parents with a framework to further develop their parenting plan and resolve their ongoing disputes so that they can reduce future conflicts. When it seems impossible for parents to agree, Empower to Engage can also provide arbitration, whereby decisions are made on behalf of the parents by the authority granted by the Court. Parent Coordination can be initiated by parents on their own (even without an existing parenting plan), decided by mutual agreement upon the recommendation of the parents’ attorneys, or court-ordered.

 

Conflict Coaching

As a parent, sometimes it is difficult to know the best way to address a conflict issue with members of your family.  Conflict coaching allows you to walk through possible options that will best suit the parties involved.  We will help you assess the situation, consider possible options, and then develop a plan of action.  

 

Parental Protocol 

What does it take to be an effective parent? Are you uncertain about your parenting style and need guidance?  Has the teenage years of your children overwhelmed you and you feel like you are at your wits-end? In this workshop, Empower to Engage can assist you in gaining clarity on your role as a parent, help you establish standards and philosophies to aid in the creation of boundaries and consistent parenting practices, and prepare you to cultivate a stronger relationship with your children. As a bonus, parents receive talent coaching to assess the best academic path for your child.  

 

Identity Assessments

Parenting is the most important job you will EVER have.  Beyond taking care of essentials and providing the basic necessities for your children, giving them the newest electronic gadgets and name-brand fashions is not enough.  Empower to Engage can equip you in this workshop to discern the gifts and talents of your children and set a course for their long-term success in school and on to adulthood.
