There are common phrases that people say to motivate us: “There’s no time like the present!”, “Just do it”, “You got this!” “Make your move”, “Do you”, or “It’s on YOU”. All of these phrases are encouraging the hearer to take action or make a decision.
Have you ever thought about what happens when we don’t decisively choose a course of action? Whether it’s to get up out of the bed, take that class, start that business, exercise, eat healthier, introduce yourself to somebody new, or take that much needed vacation, nothing happens until YOU make it happen. You must agree, participate, or initiate anything that’s going to happen for you or because of you. Our involvement is paramount.
You really do matter.
Deciding to take action requires thoughtfulness, determination…and often times, courage. Sometimes we possess these characteristics innately, and other times we need to be motivated by someone or something to help us get out of our stuck places.
It’s important to our overall well-being to be involved and engaged in living (not merely surviving or existing) which requires us to stay plugged in to what’s happening around us and in our personal lives.
So, what’s it going to be?
Decide what you want or need to do, make your list to prioritize what needs to happen and when, then TAKE ACTION!
