“Patience is a virtue. “
I would venture to say many if not all of us have heard this phrase before. Being patient has been associated with one having self-control, being self-disciplined, and even tolerant. Depending on what your premise is for how you have adopted your views on what it means to be patient, will help you assess why you are or are not as patient as is needed or desired.
From a spiritual perspective, patience is considered a gift to be acquired.
From a humanistic perspective, patience can be learned based on your environment; and, from a psychological perspective, cognitive ability through decision-making may way heavily on what one has been taught or based on what is the perceived reward (the value placed on waiting, verses immediately reacting or indulging).
In today’s challenging times, our ability to be patient, no matter how we have derived at our current views on the word, is CRITICAL. If you have not assessed your stance on this very powerful word, I encourage you to weigh the pros and cons of learning how to become more and more patient.
It can truly be the difference between life and death. So, be smart, stay safe, and be willing to wait just a little longer whenever and wherever possible.
